Network Install, Deployment and Management

Getting your Uniquity / Unifi network devices directly through us will mean, they arrive on site pre-configured for simple deployment just plug it in and it is good to go. So please contact us before placing any orders for networking equipment.

We now offer a remotely Hosted Unifi controller service for just £2 per month for each device, this allows for easy quick deployment of new networking equipment whilst giving you control and peace of mind, knowing your network is in good hands, maintaining updates for enhanced security and reliability.

Planned rollout and expansion allows you to spread the cost of building your network so as your needs grow so does your network. Some users are happy to get the best and get it done in one go which is great and can save time and money in the long run. However, this has the biggest upfront cost and is important to know the size of the network from the start. Whereas we can help your current network grow with your unique needs. With working from home now a new normal we need to get the right network for both home and office and with UniFi we can do this within your budget.

A standard small network will commonly need:

UniFi WLAN UAP Access Point Lite
UniFi WLAN UAP Access Point Pro
UniFi UniFi Switch 8 Port
UniFi Gateway Router
UniFi Cloud Key

Better WiFi coverage you can start out with just the UAPs running off your current router. Each UAP Pro is rated for in/outdoor 200+ and WiFi 6LR in/semi-outdoor 300+ clients according to marketing.

Mesh WiFi or whole Site WiFi systems requires at leets two UAPs one of which is connected directly to your LAN, and a series of satellite UAPs/nodes are placed around your site for full WiFi coverage. They are all part of a single wireless network and share the same SSIDs and passwords, unlike traditional WiFi. It is best to cable as many of them as possible for the best speed and reliability. They can also extend a network where cables can not be run.

Expanding Ethernet LAN ports on your existing router or you want to offload the LAN workload from the router, so it does not have to work as hard. Adding a PoE Switch is highly recommend as this will handle 7 LAN connections 4 of which can be PoE devices, larger switches are available if needed.

Secure Gateway Router will serve as the security gateway and DHCP server.
The current router should now be set to modem only mode if possible and will not have any control over the network, so just acting like a dumb modem. The USG will also allow for VLANS and guest portals so you can separate and isolate backoffice from front of house clients improving security.

Cloud Keys The UCK’s (Controller) and Hosted Device service are interchangeable along with the option of installing the host controller software on local computers one per site.
These are to control and monitor the network. Once devices are set up it is not essential to have a controller running unless you want to monitor the network or run a guest portal.
If you have a static IP address for your locations from your ISP you may be able to get away with one UCK / Controller for all sites otherwise each site will need its own UCK / Controller, this is more complex to set up.
Or we can remotely host all of it for you using our Hosted Device service at just £2 PCM for each device.
All UCK, Controllers and Hosted Device services can allow us or a member of your staff to remotely manage all sites, devices, clients and guest vouchers.

Guest portals allow you to issue one time use codes to give free WiFi to paying customers for a set time or data amount, using vouchers and or have a charging system to sell WiFi access via credit card/PayPal.

The UCK Pro can also host UniFi Protect, their version of CCTV. This will only work with UniFi Protect cameras which can be up to 4K quality, there is also a separate Protect server as well if this is of interest to you.

Devices bought through us can be sent out pre-configured so setup will be plug and play assuming all cabling and mounting is in place.

For Estimates of cable runs, WiFi accessibility and placement, please just send us a copy of the floor plans for each location.

A good rule of thumb is one AP per room if solid walls. Dividing walls will reduce WiFi signal but not to the same extent. For example, 2 AP AC Pros should cover a 3 bed detached house including front and rear gardens.

Endpoint Security we also provide endpoint security protecting computers allowing for in house and remote management of device security as an added service.

By using our Amazon Affiliate links you are getting the standard Amazon price and we get a commission at no extra expense to you however we can not send out the devices pre-configured or supply any product support if bought directly through Amazon or any other 3rd party. If you decide to get your equipment using our links instead of directly through us we can still set up your new equipment remotely but will have to work via a remote desktop to get things started and charge a setup fee.
